HONG KONG- The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government is holding the Social Enterprise Bazaar from November 25 to 27 to support social enterprises.
According to the city's Information Services Department, the Social Enterprise Bazaar is to enhance public awareness of social enterprise and encourage the public to support social enterprises and promote caring consumption.
The Social Enterprise Bazaar opening and award presentation ceremony for the Social Enterprise Award Scheme and "Be a Friend to Social Enterprises" Campaign was held on Friday.
Officiating at the ceremony, Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang said the bazaar provides an exchange platform for all parties.
"The general public will have a better understanding of the social value of social enterprises and pitch in to promote caring consumption," he said, adding he is pleased to witness the success of the awardees and noting the eight outstanding social enterprises have demonstrated their care for people by satisfying the needs of different community groups with their innovative thinking and business approach.
The three outstanding Friends of Social Enterprises have also shown the importance of cross-sector collaboration, he said.
