GUANGZHOU - Police in south China's Guangdong province said on Tuesday that they cracked more than 130,000 criminal cases during the first 10 months of the year, with the number of gun-related cases surging by more than 30 percent year-on-year.
According to information released by the Guangdong Public Security Department, a total of 132,000 criminal cases were solved during the period, up by 1.8 percent year-on-year.
The number of gun-related cases grew by 31.9 percent, with 1,909 suspects in gun-related crimes arrested during the period.
Specifically, police investigated 413 abduction cases during the period, locating 554 missing children.
