13 Chinese tourists injured in central Philippines

MANILA - Thirteen Chinese tourists were injured in a traffic accident in the central Philippine province of Aklan early Friday, police said.

Philippine National Police spokesman Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz said the Chinese nationals were aboard an Island Tour Bus when the accident occurred.

Citing a report from the Western Visayas regional police office, Cruz said the tourist bus was traversing Habana village around 6: 30 am when it collided with a dump truck.

"As a result, 13 Chinese nationals and one Filipino were injured and brought to Baptist Hospital, Caticlan, Malay, Aklan for medical treatment," said Cruz, adding an investigation was ongoing.
