BEIJING - President Hu Jintao has said the government will continue its proactive fiscal policy and prudent monetary policy in the second half of this year, with stabilizing prices a priority.

Hu, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks at a symposium held in Beijing Thursday. People from the non-communists parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as those without party affiliations attended the event.
