JINING, Shandong - Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen visited an air force base of the Chinese People's Liberation Army in this east China's Shandong Province.

The base is a terminal of the 19th Division of the Air Command under the PLA Jinan Military Area Command mainly with Su-27 fighters stationed there.

Senior Colonel Liu Guoyun, the division's commander, accompanied Mullen and his entourage to visit the base and see a flying show.

Mullen was in China as guest of Chen Bingde, chief of PLA's General Staff, for a visit starting from July 9.
