Shanghai's city government refuted rumors on the Internet that transportation cards in the World Expo gift bags didn't have any balance and that tickets in the bags could be used only for entering the Expo Park and not the pavilions in it, eastday.com reported Thursday.
A mainland spokeswoman Wednesday said the mainland and Taiwan might consider temporary charter flights between Shanghai and Taipei for the convenience of tourists from the island during the six-month 2010 World Expo.
The World Expo will provide food that is safe and of good quality, and it will also meet the highest standards under a tracking system that will enable it to be traced back to its source, local officials said on Tuesday.
