CPC orders stricter supervision of officials

BEIJING - The Communist Party of China (CPC) has ordered its leading officials at all levels to report change of spouses, whereabouts of their spouses and children if they have moved abroad, personal income, housing and investment of their family in line with a new regulation.

The Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee discussed the regulation at a meeting held here Friday and ordered party organizations at all levels to strengthen management and supervision of leading officials in line with the regulation.

It ordered leading officials at all levels to honestly report relevant matters.

The meeting, presided over by President Hu Jintao, also deliberated on a tentative regulation on the management of officials whose family members have all gone abroad.

The meeting's outcome required Party organizations at all levels to strengthen management on these officials, while protect their legitimate rights and their work enthusiasm at the same time.

The two regulations have been considered as important measures to ensure strict self-discipline for Party and government officials, the Political Bureau meeting was told.
