The 60-centemeter long snakes were dropped at Quanxin Bedclothes Market in Hankou, central China’s Hubei province, a local newspaper reported.

The man entered the market in the afternoon and poured all the snakes out before fleeing, said a saleswoman surnamed Zhang. “The snakes were suddenly scrambling everywhere,” she added.

Police were called to the scene and managed to round up all the snakes back into a box within half an hour without any injuries.

The incident is thought to be connected to a disagreement between the market administration officials and the store holders.

Li Jiahao, the general manger of the company said. "Some one must have done that on purpose."
