Lt. General leaves door open for aircraft carriers

Whether China will build aircraft carriers depends on the changes in domestic and international situations, said Li Dianren, lieutenant general and deputy to the National People's Congress, chinanews.com.cn reported Tuesday.
China will make the right decisions, Li said, "and as for now, we will definitely do something."
He said many countries have aircraft carriers and a country as big as China is entitled to have its own, before adding that China's military development is peaceful in its intentions and won't pose a threat to others, according to the report.
