Vietnamese chief vows to enhance ties with China

HANOI: Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee General Secretary Nong Duc Manh said here on Monday that Vietnam vowed to enhance bilateral ties with China.

Manh made the remarks in a meeting with a delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) headed by Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Wang is in Vietnam for the third ministerial meeting between international departments of CPC and CPV.

Manh spoke highly of the outcomes of the meeting between the two parties' international departments. He said the development of bilateral relations between Vietnam and China has maintained good momentum in recent years.

In the current complex international situation, it serves the fundamental interests of both countries to develop friendly exchanges and expand pragmatic cooperation, said Manh.

Vietnam vows to push relations between the two parties and two countries to a new stage this year, said Manh.

Wang said China and Vietnam have seen deepened cooperation and enhanced political trust in recent years.

Wang said China would like to work together with Vietnam to push forward mutual beneficial cooperation and constantly enrich the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
