BEIJING: The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday sent a message to congratulate the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) on its 80th founding anniversary.

The CPC said in its message that in the past eight decades, the CPV has helped the Vietnamese people accomplish national liberation and reunification, and various other remarkable achievements in the country's construction and reforms.

The country, bordering China on the south, is now enjoying political stability, economic development and social harmony. It is therefore demonstrating more importance in regional and international affairs, the CPC message said.

The CPC is convinced that under the leadership of the CPV, the Vietnamese people will achieve the goals set forth by the CPV's 10th congress, which envisaged making Vietnam a strong and affluent country with social justice and democracy.

The CPC, Chinese government and people have always attached importance to their long friendship with Vietnam, its government and people. The friendship is cherished as a valuable treasure between the two parties, the two countries and the two peoples, the CPC message said.

Further consolidating and enhancing bilateral and traditional friendship and fraternity are conducive to boosting the shared aspiration and common fundamental interest of the two parties, it added.

China and Vietnam celebrated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations this year.
