CHENGDU -- The Chengdu Military Area Command decided to airdrop more relief supplies to quake victims in badly-hit Beichuan and Wenchuan counties in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Thursday.

The supplies included 50,000 packets of food, 25,000 pairs of shoes, 5,000 cotton-padded quilts and 54,000 articles of clothing, the military said.

On Thursday, 30 more transport aircraft will be sent to the quake areas for disaster relief including airdrops, according to a decision by the disaster relief headquarters of the State Council, or the cabinet.
The aircraft will be subject to the command of the Chengdu military.
