BEIJING - Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo and Indian National Security Advisor M. K. Narayanan held a telephone conversation on Sunday to exchange views on issues of common concern.

Dai briefed Narayanan on the serious violent crimes that occurred recently in the Tibetan capital Lhasa and expounded China's stance on and concerns over the issue and expressed the hope that India would continue to show understanding and support to China.

Narayanan said Tibet is part of the Chinese territory and India does not allow Tibetans to conduct anti-China political activities in the country.

India will always stick to this position as it has been doing all along, he added.

The two officials spoke highly of the developments of the China-Indian relations, and expressed willingness to work together to achieve positive new progress in boundary negotiations between the two countries.

Narayanan said he wished the Beijing Olympic Games complete success.
