China, IOM to improve migration management cooperation

BEIJING  -- China and the International Organization for Migration(IOM) launched a project on migration management cooperation in Beijing on Thursday.

The new program, the project on capacity building for migration management in China, will last two years. Sponsored by the European Union, the program will include exchanges of personnel, information and technology concerning migration between China and the EU.

Shen Yongxiang, deputy director general of the department of the international organizations and conferences of the Foreign Ministry, said Chinese government has valued the role of the migration in a nation's development, and advocated the orderly movement of the migrators and cracking down on illegal migration.
