ULAN BATOR -- China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region will hold a four-day cultural gala in Ulan Bator on January 15-18, a Chinese diplomat told Xinhua on Tuesday.

Wang Daqi, cultural counselor of the Chinese embassy to Mongolia, said a cultural delegation, made up of nearly 120 writers, singers, dancers, folk artists and others from Inner Mongolia in northern China would visit Mongolia during the festival and present shows to Mongolian audiences.

He said among the shows are a spring festival concert jointly conducted by Chinese and Mongolian artists, an exhibition of books and videotapes, and a film show, among other activities.

Employees of a Chinese bookstore neighboring the Chinese embassy were busily preparing for the upcoming cultural festival, according to a Xinhua correspondent in Ulan Bator.

China's Inner Mongolia region and Mongolia, which share a long border, share many social and cultural similarities.
