Winter is a slack season for milk, but cows of a dairy farm in Daqing, Heilongjiang Province, are keeping up supplies with the help of classical music.

By placing speakers in the barns beaming music by Schubert and Strauss, the annual milk yield per cow has increased from 6 tons in previous years to 7 tons this year.

"It is the music that is helping the cows feel they are in an environment that is close to nature," a vet surnamed Liu said.

He was confident the farm's income would increase to as much as 600,000 yuan ($81,422) this year.
