Automakers made 130 vehicle recalls involving 3.76 million vehicles in China as of Dec 26, the country's quality watchdog announced.
The number of vehicles recalled is 17.37 percent more than the same period last year, Chen Xitong, spokesman for the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said in a news conference.
Of all the recalled vehicles, 1.96 million vehicles were recalled after investigations from the quality watchdog and 3.28 million vehicles were recalled by domestic automakers.
Imported vehicles were involved in 72 recalls totaling 482,200 vehicles, according to the authority.
Meanwhile, the quality watchdog also ordered the recall of 31 flawed toy products by 31 producers in August.
The authority ordered the recall of 41 toy products by 38 producers later this year after finding the products failed to meet safety standards.
