Chinese stocks close higher Thursday

BEIJING - Chinese shares closed higher Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 5.97 points, or 0.25 percent, to finish at 2,409.55.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.57 percent, or 56.41 points, to end at 9,918.94.
