BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed higher on Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbing 0.18 percent, or 3.81 points, to close at 2,170.

The Shenzhen Component Index moved up 0.32 percent, or 28.18 points, to finish at 8,739.73.
