LA PAZ - China signed a $300-million credit agreement with Bolivia here Thursday to finance the latter's purchase of Chinese industrial products.

Loaned by China Development Bank, the Latin American country will use the money to buy various Chinese equipment, including gas pipelines, machineries and gas perforators.

Also under the agreement, six Chinese-made H425 helicopters will be delivered to Bolivia next year to take part in the country's civil defense and humanitarian activities.

The multi-purpose helicopter can take up to 4 tons of cargo or 25 passengers.

"China and Bolivia have achieved important consensus about long-term bilateral cooperation and decided to strengthen their friendship in various fields," said Shen Zhiliang, Chinese ambassador to Bolivia, who signed the deal with two Bolivian officials.

The two countries have broadened their cooperation in mining, energy, transportation and high-tech sectors, witnessing a dramatic increase of bilateral trade volume in the last decade, Shen added.
