World's largest solar roof to power on

The Nanjing South Railway Station, which will be completed in June, is set to be the world's largest Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) project.

The "solar roof" is expected to generate 228 million kWh of electricity in 25 years, saving more than 85,000 tons of raw coal.

A major stop along the Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway, this station will be one of the most energy efficient public buildings in China.
