20,000 jobseekers attend CIEP

More than 20,000 jobseekers attended the two-day Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) which ended Saturday at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian district.

Of these, more than 8,000 were high-end professionals with more than five years of work experience, according to the organizers.

More than 410 domestic and international companies offered 10,166 posts mainly in electronics, computer, telecommunications and manufacturing and most companies sought medium and high-level managers and engineers, the organizers said.

At least 6,000 jobseekers signed contracts at the fair.

More than 3,000 overseas and domestic organizations from more than 70 countries and regions attended the fair.

"I come to the fair every year. Last year, I successfully introduced a German doctor to a hospital in Lanzhou, Gansu Province," said Julian Ottovorde, a Guangzhou-based German man helping attract German experts to work in China.

"At this fair, I spoke with three companies about introducing foreign managers and medical experts. I think the demand for foreign experts in China has increased sharply in recent years. More companies and organizations need foreign experts and more foreign experts now want to work in China."

With more than 2,000 booths, the fair was the largest fair for high-end professional exchanges. More than 120 seminars, forums and meetings were held in the two days and more than 90,000 experts and guests attended the conference, the organizers said.
