China expected the ADB to maintain its role as a bridge and platform for advancing the Sino-African relationship, he said.

Kaberuka, who visited China at the invitation of China's central bank governor Zhou Xiaochuan, said the ADB was ready to enhance cooperation with China in all fields.

Founded in 1964, the ADB is the largest African regional multilateral development bank. China became a member in 1985.
