The minister said his main purpose to China this time was to further the relevant process of Free Trade Area (FTA) talks.

The FTA talks between China and Norway were launched in Oslo, capital of Norway, on September 18, 2008. The next round of talks will be held in Beijing in March 2010.

Giske said Norway hoped the talks could be concluded this year, and his Chinese colleagues also expressed their interest in this goal.
