The China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) will continue to support qualified insurance companies to issue stocks and get listed at the right time, said chairman assistant Yuan Li at a seminar jointly held by the CIRC and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

Song Liping, general manager of the Shenzhen bourse, said capital markets like the Small- and Mid-sized Enterprises Board, the Second Board and the Over-the-Counter Market bring more listing opportunities to insurance companies of different types and different sizes.

Yuan said the CIRC has put further reform of insurance companies' on its agenda, and some major State-owned insurers were listed after shareholding restructuring. Currently, listed insurers include the People's Insurance Company of China, China Life, China Ping An, China Pacific, Hong Kong-based China Insurance International Holdings Co and Ming An (Holdings) Co.
