What are the highlights of your exhibits at the China International Import Expo? Are you launching any new products, technologies or solutions?

With consumers and healthcare professionals in mind, we have a rich and varied line-up of innovation to share with you, including our brilliant line-up of connected consumer products that empower people to self-manage their health; world-beating digital imaging systems and advanced informatics which enable more precise care and better patient outcomes. Moreover, you will get a close look at how we are pioneering the use of Artificial Intelligence and other technologies to transform data into insights and improve the way we diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease, stroke and oncology.

In terms of deals, what do you expect from the CIIE? Whom are you targeting?

We focus on top 3 diseases - stroke, cardiovascular disease and cancer to develop "whole-life-cycle" solutions by leveraging global innovation assets with local context via close collaboration with local eco-system including governmental authorities, different levels of hospitals, research institutions, universities, local start-up companies etc. The whole healthcare relevant local eco-system is our target audiences and key stakeholders of CIIE.

Individual consumers are also our important targets and we are dedicated to empowering them in personal health management.

Do you think the CIIE could eventually help drive the development or upgrade of the industry your company is in, and your company's strategy in China?

CIIE provides an open and wide platform for worldwide leading medical and health industry players to show their latest innovations and even drive global collaboration as well, which will definitely upgrade the industry where we're playing.

What is your view on China's pledge to further open up its markets to foreign companies? How would that benefit your business? Any specific examples?

Philips is proud of our long history in China and we are grateful for Chinese governmental support over more than three decades. We are encouraged about China's commitment to free and fair trade by opening up its market and equally treating foreign-invested companies.

What is your forecast for China's economy in the next three years? What key issues will you be watching for?

China's rapid economic growth has driven itself to be the second largest economy globally. Along with the economic growth, China consumers' buying power and desire to live better and healthier are also getting stronger. The desire from consumer and strong promotion from government present a huge market potential of health technology in China.

We are encouraged about China's commitment to free and fair trade by opening up its market, equally treating foreign-invested companies and protecting IP etc.
