The key of finding good honey is good honey gatherers. The technique of gathering honey on the cliffs is mostly inherited by children from their parents. It is very common that there is only one honey gatherer within a radius of more than ten kilometers. Gathering honey is dangerous and hard so that only brave and skilled people are able to do this job. Honey gatherers are all called "great masters" and have prestige on their honey-gathering teams. The youngest are 15 or 16 years old, while the oldest are younger than 40.

The main transportation vehicles are motorcycles and mules on rugged mountain roads, no matter to say people can only walk by themselves instead of taking vehicles in deep mountains. Some honey sources are a day distant from villages, so people have to spend the night in the wild. People bring their cooking ranges and food every time they go to gather honey, and cook in caves or along streams that have been cautiously chosen over the decades.
