Large Medium  SmallHuawei is hoping for an open and fair business environment in Europe following media reports of an European Union investigation targeting Chinese telecoms.
In a statement sent to China Daily on Wednesday, Huawei said it believes only through an open and competitive market environment can parties achieve a sustainable development of telecom industries in Europe and China "providing customers in both places with convenience".
Huawei's response came after a Financial Times report on Tuesday that said the EU would defer making a decision on whether to launch investigations against Chinese telecom companies.
However, in a reply on Tuesday to China Daily, the European Commission denied any such delay.
It also denied there was any link between the telecoms issue and whether European companies won a satisfactory share in China Mobile's contract to build a next-generation wireless network.
