Chongqing's Lianglu Cuntan Bonded Port has taken the opportunity to develop its cross-border e-commerce and trade by constructing a trade center for the European market, according to Tang Lin, deputy director of the Liangjinag administrative committee.

"The bonded port has taken the lead in carrying out bonded commodities trade in China," said Tang.

According to Tang, the Lianglu Cuntan Bonded Port has three advantages in the construction of a trade center for European markets.

Transportation is the port's main advantage of constructing a trade center for European markets owing to the fact that the bonded port lies at the intersection of China's "One Belt One Road" initiative area and Yangtze River Economic Belt. The bonded port area also contains the Cuntan water port and Jiangbei Airport, making it an international logistics hub.

The construction of the Lianglu Cuntan port has made a big progress in the last year and has become the only port to import fruit and meat into western China, laying a good foundation for Chongqing's international commerce development. In addition, Lianglu Cuntan Port has set out plans to deepen its administrative system reform. In March, a diversified trade pilot project will begin in Lianglu Cuntan Bonded Port, which will encourage more enterprises to carry out more offshore trades.
