The selection highlighted new media interaction, with the WeChat account of CCTV-12 having launched such features as FAQ about legal knowledge. The public is invited to vote for the candidates.

Websites, including those of the Supreme People's Court and the China Legal Information Center, have made special reports to promote stories of the 20 candidates.

The selection and awards ceremony are part of the nationwide celebrations of Constitution Day on Dec 4, which also include an exhibition of law-related animation micro-films and a legal knowledge contest. They are taking place in the hope of instilling the spirit of the Constitution in people's hearts.

The program has become branded as CCTV's law-promoting series since it first aired 16 years ago.
