The city of Datong, Shanxi province, is about to get a new branch of its main library, at the end of this month, in the new town area, the Datong Evening News reported, on Dec 9, in an article describing the interior decoration process.

This 80-square-meter branch is the City Library's second community branch set up in conjunction with Minhe community administrators, with more than 5,000 books, 15 types of newspapers, 28 periodicals, and 50 seats where people can have a leisurely read.

The library cards can be used in all of the city branches, even though any books borrowed have to be returned to the same library. The city is planning a third branch to be opened next year in a suitable residential location.
