Shanxi improving its online shopping

As "Double Eleven" Day approaches, on Nov 11, online shopping is expected to see a peak in China, since this special festival, developed only recently in China, is designed for those who without a partner, so online shops promote interesting activities and have a wide range of product discounts on that day.

So, this Singles Day is more like a festival for online shoppers across the nation and to ensure a safe, attractive shopping experience, some large e-commerce websites made a commitment to the city of Datong, Shanxi province, on Oct 28, that there will be no cheating of customers and there will be supervisory portal to expose any bad deeds.

The city's industry and commerce bureau says there are more than 1,100 online business in the city, 26 of them online trade sites with 6,952 individual stores, and 1,762 mini-shops on the Wechat, a popular chatting site. And the city has changed its approach, going for precautionary measures instead of punishments, and publicizing commerce laws to give the customers more satisfactory shopping.

The e-commerce websites that joined the commitment campaign will have to provide a product or service warranty, involving repair or replacement of goods, immediate consumer complaint response, authentication of information on goods or services, and product return information.
