A household in Xinrong district, Datong, in North China’s Shanxi province, began to generate electricity on Nov 5th. It was the first residentially distributed photovoltaic power station in the city, Datong Daily reported.

With a total capacity of 3 kilowatts, the station provides power for the household itself, and its annual power capacity is expected to reach 4,380 kw/h.

Li Guoze, owner of the station, applied to build the power station after receiving approval from the local power supply company in April, and then installed the solar panels and the inverter with his own investment of more than 30,000 yuan ($4,900).

The city of Datong provides a good service for applicants, such as inviting experts to make field investigations and assessments for the residentially distributed photovoltaic power project, since China has carried out a group of favorable policies for residentially distributed photovoltaic power generation in the last two years.
