Staff move an exhibit into the Heyang Gallery, one of the exhibition locations of the second China Datong International Sculpture Biennial Exhibition, which will open in Datong, Shanxi province, on Sept 28.

The second China Datong International Sculpture Biennial Exhibition will kick off in Datong, Shanxi province, on Sept 28. A total of 116 artists from different countries will attend the event with 208 pieces of work.

The theme of this year's exhibition is "extension", echoing that of last year – "enlightenment". The fashionable and multi-component modern sculptures that are to be displayed in Datong during the event will not only help with the establishment of Datong's "city of sculpture" brand, but will also be good for the innovation and upgrading of the sculpture business and artistic taste of the country.

Datong citizens and visitors can go to the Heyang Gallery at the East City Wall and the Chinese Sculpture Museum at the North City Wall to enjoy the excellent sculptures until the end of this year.

Another two exhibitions will be held at the same time, the Excellent Work Exhibition of Zengzushao Sculpture Art Scholarship and the Parallel Exhibition of 2013 China Datong International Sculpture Biennial Exhibition. The total number of exhibition works will reach 445, from a total of 264 Chinese and foreign artists.
