The city of Datong, Shanxi province, received a delegation from the city of Foshan, Guangdong province, led by its mayor, Liu Yuelun, Aug 20 – 21, who came to get a closer look at Datong's urban ecology and relics preservation work, and signed an agreement with Datong on economic and tourism cooperation.

Foshan is Guangdong's third largest city and has seen some remarkable economic development in recent years, making it a good site for investment. Back in mid-July, Datong's mayor, Li Junming, went to Foshan to get a look at the development there.

This time, Li explained that the cooperation agreement means a lot to the two cities, because both of them are tourist sites with long history and Datong's construction and relic preservation work impressed the visitors a lot, with Liu even calling it "a shock". The two cities say they now expecting more communications and development in the future.
