The "Datong Image" art activity was launched in the Nature Home residence area in Datong city. During the activity, 30 famous painters and artists will create oil paintings at several scenic spots to portray the charm of the city.

The event is sponsored by art schools from Renmin University of China (RUC) and Xu Beihong Chinese Painting Art Creation Academy. The painters and artists invited will go to scenic spots such as the Yungang Grottoes, Huayan Temple, Datong volcanic group, Hengshan Mountain and Xuankong Temple to collect creative material. The paintings will be exhibited in Datong as well as throughout the country.

Wang Keju, a painting celebrity in China and professor at RUC, will give a lecture titled "Art Creation and Appreciation."
