There will be a huge performance, named “ Tongyue (happy together) City”, in Datong, Shanxi province during the May Day. It will show intangible cultural heritage from China and foreign countries.

More than 20 art troupes at home and abroad will get together in Datong, offering a magnificent feast of intangible cultural heritage performances from Europe, America, Africa and Asia.

The performance will have six sessions in different entertainment spots of Datong. The presentation, themed “The whole world gets happy together in Datong”, aims to build Datong into a new platform of cultural exchange. It’s also of great significance for portraying Datong’s image, promoting its tourism industry and enhancing its foreign economy growth.

Qin Ling, acting director of the performance, spoke highly of the historical and cultural characteristics of Datong and said it’s an ideal destination for the show.
