The city’s production of raw coal reached more than 21 million tons last year, up 60 percent year-on-year, and its coal sales revenue exceeded 6 billion yuan ($1 billion).

The local government increased investments for upgrading safety technologies to reduce the coal mine accidents. The death rate per million tons (DRPMT) was lower than the guidepost of the province.

In addition, 49 mine projects received approval and 41 of which are under construction.

The city government also continues to put emphasis on the training of managers for safe production so that dangers may be eliminated.
