June 8, 2012 saw the opening of "The 2nd Lijiang Ancient Town Civil Picking-apart Meeting" in Lijiang, an ancient town located in Yunnan province of China.
On June 2, Li Jiheng, vice-secretary of the Yunnan provincial Party committee and governor of Yunnan province, met with Ruan Shanren, vice-premier of Vietnam in Kunming.
In the northwestern part of the Yunnan province, there is a grand canyon that can rival the Colorado grand canyon in the United States. It is the Nujiang river grand canyon.
On June 1, a commercial project named "Millions of Taobao users touring Lijiang" was launched on the Taobao website (www.taobao.com) and Juhuasuan.com.
The Yulong Snow Mountain scenic spot restored the vegetation in an area of 400,000 square meters and planted nearly 25,000 trees. This is in accordance with the national standards as a 5A rating scenic spot.
The "First China-South Asia Education Sub-forum", co-hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the People's Government of Yunnan province and SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will be held in Kunming from June 5 to 7, 2012.
The China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, Beijing Municipal Commission and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, was successfully closed in Beijing on June 1, 2012.
