What started 5,000 years ago with a haphazard gust of wind dropping foliage into the boiling pot of a wandering Chinese emperor has brewed into a cultural cornerstone worth billions in any currency.
The second Asia Cultural Forum was held in Kunming, capital city of Yunnan province, on Nov 18-22. Thirty foreign experts from 11 countries in Asia and 34 domestic experts attended the forum.
The Yunnan government released the third batch of the province's intangible cultural heritage list in November after a 20-day public notice period.
Southwest China's Yunnan province on Tuesday launched a financial reform initiative in its regions bordering South Asian neighbors.
Afinancial reform pilot zone will be established in Southwest China in a move designed to strengthen ties with South and Southeast Asian countries, it was disclosed on Tuesday following the announcement of financial measures at the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China earlier this month.
