Most welcomed tourism route in Yunnan

In the northwestern part of the Yunnan province, there is a grand canyon that can rival the Colorado grand canyon in the United States. It is the Nujiang river grand canyon. At the northern tip of this mysterious canyon is the Gongshan Dulong Nu ethnic minority autonomous county. It is a small border county of majestic landscapes, simple folk customs, and rich natural resources, located in the deep gorges and high mountains bordering Myanmar in the west and Tibet in the north.

The county has countless peaks, plateau lakes, exotic trees and flowers, rare fowls and beasts, waterfalls and streams. It remains primitive with original ecological systems. It has been named as a "human ecological park" by the State Tourism Administration and the Yunnan provincial government.

The county, located in the northern section of the Nujiang grand canyon in northwestern Yunnan, joins Deqin and Weixi counties in the east, Fugong county of Nujiang autonomous district in the south, Chayu county of Tibet in the north, and Myanmar in the west. It has a national border line of 172 kilometers. Main mountains such as the Dandang Lika Mountain, the Gaoligong Mountain, and the Biluo Snow Mountain stand in the county. The Nujiang and Dulong rivers pass through the county from north to south. Mountains and rivers create the typical landform of high mountains and grand canyons.
