The news conference of the Most Beautiful Water Landmark in Jiangsu province was held on Nov 28.

Sponsored by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Water Conservancy, Provincial Department of Culture and Provincial Tourism Bureau, the Most Beautiful Water Landmark event aims to promote the beautiful water view nationwide.

40 water landmarks were selected via online polls and experts' reviews, which included the Changguangxi Wetland Park in Wuxi.

The park, situated to the south of Wuxi's Binhu region, is a glorious expanse of hills, lakes, and rich vegetation, connecting Lihu Lake to Taihu Lake. The park is home to 213 types of plants and 230 species of animals, which intermingle to create a rich and diverse ecosystem.

Zhang Jinsong, vice-director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Water Conservancy, says that Zhou Zhuang in Suzhou, Xihu Lake in Hangzhou and River Thames in England are common in that they are all water landmarks combined with traditional culture bases.

"We should protect natural environment as our eyes and accelerate the pace of innovation in science and technology of water resources", Zhang added.
