French tourism wholesalers to promote Hubei

Leaders of the Hubei Provincial Tourism Bureau talk with a French guest.

VDM Tourism Group, the largest tourism wholesaler in France, visited central China’s Hubei province from June 14 to June 17.

The 19 visitors representing VDM’s major corporate clients spoke highly of Hubei’s natural and cultural landscape. Xie Zhou, director of sales at VDM, said that to add new elements to traditional Chinese tourism products, they would vigorously promote Hubei, which is rich in Jingchu culture, in French-speaking markets.

Jointly organized by the Hubei Provincial Tourism Bureau and VDM Tourism Group, the tour introduced Jingchu culture to the visitors. The French guests experienced Wudang kung fu, tasted traditional Taoist food, and listened to Chinese music with chime-bells during the trip.

An introduction meeting organized by the Hubei Provincial Tourism Bureau was held on June 16. Qian Yuankun, director of the tourism bureau, addressed the meeting and introduced the historical and cultural development of Hubei, as well as some famous tourist attractions including Wuhan, the Wudang Mountains and Shennongjia. He hoped that the expansion of the Wuhan High-Speed Rail economic circle would provide more tour routes for visitors.

VDM Tourist Group is a listed enterprise in France, mainly dealing with outbound tourism of people from French-speaking countries. The Hubei Provincial Tourism Bureau has cooperated with the group since the opening of direct flights between Wuhan and Paris in the last year.
