Insight China magazine, along with several national government departments and professional organizations, recently selected China's top 100 cities and counties for spring tourism, seven of which are in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The seven destinations are Qianxi'nan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture's Xingyi city, Libo county and Qinglong county, Guiyang's Kaiyang county and Xiuwen county, Zunyi's Chishui city and Liupanshui's Panzhou city.

The selection results are based on online data collected from Nov 16, 2019, to Nov 15, 2020.

Xingyi city is the capital of Qianxi'nan and is the permanent venue of the International Mountain Tourism Conference. It is home to famous scenic spots such as the Wanfenglin scenic area, Maling River Canyon and Wanfeng Lake.

Libo county features mid-subtropical weather and plays host to a famous national 5A-level scenic spot – Zhangjiang scenic spot. Visitors to the county can also check out the Maolan Karst Virgin Forest, Huangjiang River National Wetland Park and the Yao ethnic group's ancient villages.

Qinglong county has warm weather in the winter and cool weather in the summer with abundant rainfall. It is home to ecological scenic spots and historic cultural heritage sites from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Kaiyang county is renowned as the hometown of China's prose poetry, selenium-enrich agricultural products, phosphorus and karst landscape parks. It has the most robust economy of Guizhou's counties and is China's first circular economy demonstration county for the phosphorus and coal chemical industry.

Chishui city is located at the middle and lower reaches of the Chishui River. It has one World Natural Heritage Site, one National Park of China, two National Forest Parks, two Nature Reserves of China, one National Geopark of China and two national 4A-level scenic spots.

Xiuwen county in middle Guizhou has the province's only forest wildlife zoo, as well as featured stone forests and stunning scenery in the Liuguang River canyon.

Panzhou city is a hub for Guizhou and Yunnan's transportation, energy, commerce, logistics and tourism industries. It is one of China's top 100 counties with strong economic power and is known for ancient gingko trees, ancient post roads and breathtaking natural scenic spots.
