According to the information office of Southwest China's Guizhou province, Guizhou aims to cultivate 37,000 professional talents involved in senior care by 2024.

The professional talents include 19,000 paramedics, 5,000 managers, 2,500 doctors, 500 senior care service related officials, and 10,000 graduates majoring in senior care.

Earlier in June 2019, Guizhou received a $350 million loan from the World Bank and 100 million euros ($111.27 million) from the French Development Agency to build a senior service system.

Guizhou will improve training for volunteers and paramedics based on the operation of the senior service system, including formulating talent training schemes and standardizing the talent training process.

A series of supporting policies will be launched to provide financial subsidies, establish talent bank management systems and talent markets, as well as build talent training bases and senior care skill evaluation centers.

In addition, Guizhou will take advantage of the technical assistance provided by the French Development Agency to introduce France's advanced senior care theories, management, and nursing courses to the province.
