According to the National Energy Administration, Guizhou's photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of 3.6 million kilowatts will receive 450 million yuan ($65.16 million) of national subsidies this year, ranking first in the country.
The southwestern province aims to complete the construction of 63 photovoltaic projects with a total investment of 13 billion yuan by the end of 2019, including two rooftop ones and 54 ground-mounted ones.
The construction of the photovoltaic projects are expected to promote the development of clean and efficient electric power industry, as well as bolster the regional economy and photovoltaic industry, while increasing the proportion of renewable energy in Guizhou.
Located in poverty-stricken areas, the ground-mounted photovoltaic projects will pay over 30 million yuan of land rent to locals per year when completed, and the per capita annual income will be increased by 4,000 yuan per year by developing animal husbandry under the photovoltaic panels.
Guizhou aims to ensure the efficient construction of photovoltaic projects by focusing on project procedures, environmental protection, project quality, and safety, while enhancing management and supervision to provide the best conditions for these projects.
