Wang Bo, an art teacher at Guizhou Normal University in Southwest China's Guizhou province, has a passion for leaf carving and decided to combine it with Peking Opera to help preserve the traditional intangible cultural heritage item.

Wang uses his spare time to create leaf carving art. The process of carving is complicated and time-consuming, usually taking one month to finish a single work.

Each piece consists of over 40 steps, and only one out of 20 carvings will be completed successfully. When finished, the leaf carving can last hundreds of years.

As part of the younger generation, Wang hopes to inspire an interest in traditional art among young people by creating leaf carvings and passing them on to future generations.
