At the news conference announcing the third batch of Chinese Architectural Heritages of 20th Century, held at Southeast University on Nov 24, 100 buildings including the site of the Zunyi Conference in Southwest China's Guizhou province, were selected.

The Chinese Architectural Heritage of 20th Century was founded by China Cultural Relics Academy and the Architectural Society of China.

The first batch of 98 buildings was announced at the Palace Museum in 2016, while the second batch of 100 was announced in Chizhou city of East China's Anhui province last year.

The 100 buildings selected this time cover 25 provinces, prefectures and cities in China. They were all constructed in the last century, meaning each bears witness to the vast amount of history and changes that China underwent in those 100 years.

The site of the Zunyi Conference is located on Hongqi Road, Huagang district, Zunyi city. It was built during the early 1930s and is a combination of the Chinese and western style. The brick and wood structure building with two stories was originally a private residence.

From Jan 15 to 17, 1935, the Zunyi Conference was held in a small living room in the building, establishing the central collective leadership of the Party.

In 1961, the site of the Zunyi Conference was selected as one of the first important historical monuments under special preservation by the State Council. It then became a level 4A national tourist attraction in 2005.
