Guizhou strives to develop big data industry

Since the establishment of the first national big data comprehensive experimental zone on Feb 25, 2016, Guizhou has devised seven experiments to promote the application of big data technology in the experimental zone.

The government of Guizhou province as well as various city governments have connected 736 application systems with the Guizhou-Cloud Big Data platform, forming the first national government information experimental system.

Guizhou has the second most data centers of any province in China and over 70,000 servers. Guizhou's information infrastructure rose from number 29 to number 15 nationwide, in terms of level of development, and makes use of optic fiber broadband and 4G networks which cover all administrative villages.

With the innovative application of big data, Guizhou has been awarded various national internet rewards, and its ability to handle government affairs online has ranked number 2 in the nation for 3 years.

In 2017, the electronic information manufacturing industry grew by 15.3 percent, while overall industry grew by 1.5 percent.

Telecom business revenue grew by 14.3 percent, while the total volume grew by 146.2 percent, both ranking first in the country.

The number of big data related companies in Guizhou grew from less than 1,000 in 2013 to over 8,900, and includes companies such as Apple, Qualcomm, Microsoft, DELL, HP, Intel and Oracle Bone Inscriptions.

Big data helped to build international platforms for exchanging capital, technology and ideas. With the support of related policies, Guizhou will become an ideal place for investors interested in the big data industry.
