Waxberry is in season in Guizhou province, attracting thousands of visitors to Nongcheng village in Congjiang county, Guizhou province.
In recent years, local government has been making efforts to help alleviate poverty among rural residents through the integration of agriculture and tourism.
Nongcheng, a home to many people of the Dong ethnic group in Congjiang county, boasts a rich ethnic culture and favorable environment for planting waxberry and other fruits.
The village has planted more than 320 mu (21.33 hectares) of waxberry and has seized the opportunity to draw more visitors by opening its orchard to tourists, allowing them to experience rural life and enjoy the beautiful terraced crops. These efforts have helped more local people to live a better life.
